KINGSTON, Jamaica – To say that jockey Anthony Thomas is on fire would be the understatement of the year.
Thomas, the now leading rider in the land just added another winner to his Sunday collection making it four wins on the day from seven races.
This time he again partnered with trainer Wayne DaCosta to win the seventh event on today’s card at Caymanas Park on Den Street. The race was a restricted allowance for two-year-olds only run over 5 ½ furlongs.
Thomas watched closely as Miniature Man (Abigail Able) and Super Duper (Phillip Parchment) vied for the lead in a contest in which DaCosta fielded six of the seven starters.
In the straight, Super Duper took over on the front end but Thomas waiting patiently nudged Den Street forward on the inside rails. Den Street then surged to the front winning by 2 ½ lengths.
Second was Sensational Ending (Carlos Blake) with third going to Super Duper. The winning time was a smart 1:06.3.
Den Street was the second winner on the day for DaCosta.
