KINGSTON, Jamaica – In a supreme performance Mahogany dismantled rivals in the Caymanas Tuesday eighth to reaffirm his status as the top sprinter in the land.

Mahogany’s second win this year was achieved in the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Trophy event which was designated for horses four-year-old and upwards at the Open Allowance level running 5 ½ furlongs.

Another known speedster Patriarch (Dane Nelson) from the one draw flew out to establish himself in front while Mahogany trained by Ian Parsard and ridden by Dane Dawkins glided smoothly from the outside to be in striking distance of Patriarch.

For about a furlong, Dawkins allowed Patriarch to lead then with three furlongs to go, Mahogany swooped to the front and was not for the catching, galloping impressively in the straight.

God of Love (Dick Cardenas) was 8 ½ lengths behind Mahogany in the second place with Salvation (Oneil Mullings) third.

The final time on what has been a slow track for a while now was 1:05.0.
