Loving the slop, Roy Rogers decimates Overnight rivals in Caymanas Saturday 11th

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four-year-old grey gelding Roy Rogers displaying an obvious affection for the mud and slop of a wet race track decimated his 10 rivals to win the nine furlongs and 25 yards Kenneth Mattis Memorial Trophy yesterday (Sat, Nov 7) at Caymanas Park.

Ridden by Raddesh Roman and trained by Dennis lee, Roy Rogers was early when the starting stalls were opened, sharing the lead with Jamai Raja (Youville Pinnock) before seizing control with four furlongs left in the contest.

In the straight Roy Rogers was in his element as he sailed away on the wet surface to win at the Overnight level by 8 ½ lengths.

Coco Chanel (Dane Dawkins) was the best of the rest while Big Bang (Oshane Nugent) coming from well off the pace was third.

The winning time was 1:54.1.

Eroy the odds on 3-5 was a complete no show ending up in the eighth slot.
