KINGSTON, Jamaica – Gallopja.com understands the non-licencing of racing professionals is causing a massive issue for the promoting company, Supreme Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) putting together a race programme.
For the second week in a row, no Overnight programme was provided by SVREL. Entries for Saturday’s programme have been reopened until 10:30 pm tomorrow (Thursday Feb 21) morning.
When checks were made by this site, it was revealed that the annual renewal of licences for jockeys, trainers and grooms was the problem.
Professionals in the sport have to renew their licences with the Jamaica Racing Commission every two years
No entry is accepted for a racing programme by the Commission if the professionals making the entry are not licenced.
