KINGSTON, Jamaica – With heavy betting in the Reggae 6 (over $8 million), the Ketch 9, and in the win pool, punters got off to a good start with the 4-5 favourite Jolly’s Dream obliging in the Caymanas Saturday (January 22, 2022) first.

Jolly’s Dream trained by Oneil Markland with champion jockey Anthony Thomas on board was successful in a five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of two) call going 5 ½ furlongs. Horse number 4 Trulicity was a late non-starter.

Jolly’s Dream and Thomas were not the best away as several horses vied for the lead. Thomas smoothly guided Jolly’s Dream to enter the straight closer to the leaders.

Switching to the inside, Thomas got his mount going and bay colt pulled away to win by four lengths.

Gorgeous Gift (Samantha Fletcher) finished second with Soul Treasure (Roger Hewitt) third.
