Jockey Phillip Parchment Suspended | Others Fined

The following news release from the Jamaica Racing Commission lists the disciplinary actions taken by the stewards.

PRESS RELEASE

The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, 8 Winchester Road, Kingston 10, on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Jockey REYAN LEWIS who rode:

  • IANNAI LINKS in the third (3rd) race on Saturday, January 7, 2023 was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for the intimidation and interference caused to MAGICAL MOOD approaching the 300-metre point; and
  • MO AVIATOR in the fourth (4th) race on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 was fined Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for the intimidation caused to BURNING VALOR approaching the 200-metre point that resulted in the disqualification of MO AVIATOR.

Jockey PHILLIP PARCHMENT who rode JUPITER MAN in the first (1st) race on Saturday, 28th January 2023 was suspended for two (2) race days and fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for the interference caused to ASURETY, KING AIR and MILLINIUM STAR leaving the 300-metres that resulted in the disqualification of JUPITER MAN.  The suspension will take effect on Saturday, March 25, 2023. 

Jockey TEVIN FOSTER who rode DUKE OF SPRINGS in the sixth (6thd) race on Sunday, March 5, 2023 was fined Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00) for the intimidation and interference caused to XY SOUL approaching the 300-metre point that resulted in the disqualification of DUKE OF SPRINGS.
