PRESS RELEASE
The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, 8 Winchester Road, Kingston 10, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Jockey JAWANI FORBES was fined Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) for his involvement in an altercation with Trainer HOWARD JAGHAI which resulted in him issuing threats to the trainer at Caymanas Park on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was also referred for counselling sessions.
Trainer DERRICK ROMAN was fined Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) for failing to present his horse VALIANT for veterinary examination on the morning of “scratch”, Thursday, March 16, 2023.
