KINGSTON, Jamaica – Old stager, the tough and resilient Hover Craft brought a bit of hope in the trainers’ championship for trainer Wayne DaCosta as he easily took the day’s seventh race – an Open Allowance over nine furlongs and 25 yards just minutes ago at Caymanas Park.
Coming as usual from behind the leaders, Hover Craft under a really well-timed ride by apprentice Christopher Mamdeen was just about three lengths ahead of second place Saratoga Sight with another DaCosta inmate Uncle Frank third.
Hover Craft was sent off by the punters at odds of 9-2, with Saratoga Sight setting off at 9-1, while Uncle Frank started at 17-1. Hover Craft covered the distance in 1:56.2.
This was DaCosta’s second win on the day.
