KINGSTON, Jamaica – Hilly’s Halo returned to form with a spanking and sustained effort under the guidance of champion jockey Anthony Thomas to win the 5 ½ furlongs feature – the Easter Sprint Cup just moments ago at Caymanas Park.
It was Thomas’ third winner on the day but he had to pull out all the stops as Hilly’s Halo got fierce competition from a returning Patriarch (Robert Halledeen) in the stretch drive but Thomas' strong handling allowed Hilly's Halo to get home with aplomb.
Trainer of Hilly’s Halo, Gary Subratie also had the third placed My Sister (Aaron Chatrie).
Hilly’s Halo won in fast 1:06.1 with splits of 22.4 x 45.1 while the winning margins were ¾ x 2 ¾.
