KINGSTON, Jamaica – A fierce battle in the last furlong saw La La Diva holding on for dear life - eventually winning the fourth race on the 2019 Gold Cup racing programme by three-parts of a length.

Ridden by champion jockey Anthony Thomas and trained by an in-form Patrick Lynch, La La Diva scored after battling for the early lead with Best Advice in a Restricted Allowance IV event for four-year-olds and up - non-winners of three - run over 5 ½ furlongs.

In the straight, several horses were locked in combat but Thomas was strong in the saddle to get the job done on La La Diva at odds of 5-1.

Second at 2-1 was Dyna’s Pride (Christopher Mamdeen) with Nuclear Dan Dada third at odds of 12-1.

This was Lynch's third winner on the two-day Golden Weekend of racing which started yesterday (Friday, August 31).
