KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four jockeys, Anthony Thomas, Javaniel Patterson, Tevin Foster and Daniel Satchell all fell from their respective mounts during the fourth race on the Emancipation Day 10-race programme.

Thomas was aboard Foot Soldier and was engaged in a front running duel with Jemar Jackson in the Optional Claiming event contested for over a mile.

Leaving the four-furlong point in the race, Foot Soldier lost his footing causing Thomas to fall along with Patterson on Minnifia, Foster on Unbreakable and Satchell on Brave Prospect.

Early reports indicate that Thomas is fine but it was quickly announced that Foster and Satchell would not be riding for the rest of the day. The conditions of both Foster and Satchell have not been disclosed as yet while Patterson was on board Yaya’s Dream in the next race.

The fall of the four jockeys opened the door for Silva Crass with Omar Walker in the irons to upset at odds of 6-1. This was Walker’s second winner on the card.

Second was No Money Friend with Trini Magic third.
