RACE DISTANCE: 7 furlongs

KINGSTON, Jamaica – This race was billed as a straight battle between Night Light (Javaniel Patterson) and Reigning King (Anthony Thomas) and so it turned out.

From the off-Reigning King set the very early fractions but was quickly passed by Night Light. Thereafter the two tussled for the advantage with none giving any quarter.

It was the same in the stretch drive, but Night Light put away from his main rival with 1 1/2 furlong to go and won by 4 ½ lengths. Third way behind was Killer Bee (Chris Mamdeen).

Night Light trained by Ryan Darby was winning his second consecutive race. As expected, Night Light was claimed from the race by trainer Joseph Thomas.
