KINGSTON, Jamaica – The third two-year-old contest this season is listed as the second event of ten on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Caymanas Park.
Seven horses are entered in this four-furlong event, with THE QUICK GALLOPER’S assessment provided below.
1 - THE LOVE OF GOD is a chestnut filly (February 22) by Lion Tamer out of The Principal trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Odeen Edwards aboard. The Love of God has been busy in the mornings with gallops dating back to June. Her last two gallops were done on Saturday, August 28, and Saturday, September 3. On the former date, The Love of God clocked 24.3 seconds for two furlongs, and on September 3, she galloped four furlongs in 48.2 seconds and five furlongs straight in 1:05.4 (easy).
2 - CRUCIAL ALEXXYA is a grey filly (March 8) by Admiral Alex out of Crucial Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Paul Francis aboard. Crucial Alexxya is the first progeny of Admiral Alex to race on the local track. This filly has also been around in the mornings with several gallops to her credit. On Saturday, September 3, Crucial Alexxya galloped two furlongs in a time of 24.3 seconds; and then on Saturday, September 10, she galloped four furlongs in 48.2 seconds, and five furlongs straight in 1:04.1 (easy).
3 - PRINCESS TALISE is a bay filly (April 17) by Savoy Stomp out of Dancing Queen trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Oshane Nugent in the saddle. On Saturday, September 3, Princess Talise galloped two furlongs in a time of 24.3 seconds, then seven days later, she galloped four furlongs in 49.0 seconds.
4 – VOLATILITY is a bay filly (March 10) by Hedge Fund out of Fashionista trained by Anthony Nunes with Dick Cardenas aboard. This filly has raced once finishing second, 1 ¼ lengths behind stablemate Legit Boss. Having had the benefit of that run (three furlongs), Volatility is cherry ripe to get off the mark. Note, Volatility races with the tongue tie on, and first-time Lasix. 5 – MILOS is a bay colt (March 31) by Casual Trick out of The Vibes Lady trained by Anthony Nunes with Carlos Blake aboard. Finished behind Volatility on August 1 (three furlongs). Milos was prominent throughout that encounter but faltered a bit in the final stage of the event. Should again find Volatility difficult to overcome. Note, Milos races with the tongue tie off. 6 – WHIZZ KID is a bay colt (April 19) by Northern Giant out of Makeyn Joy trained by Jason DaCosta with Jerome Innis aboard. This is the third time; Whizz Kidd will be entering the starting gate. Yet, in his previous two outings, Whizz Kid has shown nothing to catch the eyes of onlookers. The learning process for Whizz Kidd continues Saturday. 7 - ROYAL ASH is a roan filly (February 24) by Fearless Vision out of Greek Goddess trained by Anthony Nunes with Reyan Lewis aboard. Royal Ash has been well prepared for this assignment with several gallops to her credit. On Saturday, August 27, Royal Ash galloped three furlongs with Legit Boss clocking 36.1 seconds. Then on Saturday, September 3, she galloped three furlongs in 38.0 seconds, and in her final gallop before this race, Royal Ash clocked 47.4 seconds for four furlongs.
