KINGSTON, Jamaica – Enedina, a two-year-old bay filly by Film Director – Yaella making her a half sister to top notch campaigner Campesino released her maiden tag just minutes ago to give jockey Dane Nelson his third winner in the seventh event on the 11-race Saturday card at Caymanas Park.
Racing for only the second time Enedina, owned, trained and bred by Lorenzo Robinson won the Sunnyside Stakes for two-year-olds fillies only, run over 5 ½ furlongs. Enedina finished the event in a time of 1:07.3 paying $135 to win as the joint 8-5 favourite. It was Robinson’s second winner for the year.
Western Wheels (Dick Cardenas) the other joint favourite broke badly and was never a winning factor throughout.
Second was Cryptocurrency (5-2) with Oneil Mullings with third going to Special Counsel at 9-2 with Harriston Lewis in the saddle.
