KINGSTON, Jamaica – Duke won the first three-year-old maiden race for 2019 after staving off the persistent stretch challenge of King Tavari just minutes ago at Caymanas Park.
Duke (Casual Trick – Lady McBeth) ridden by Shane Ellis beat King Tavari ridden by Simon Husbands who was making a return to riding in Jamaica by ½ a length with Reggae Gone Grammy (Jerome Innis) at 9-2 in the third slot, a further 2 lengths behind. Duke, the odds on 4-5 favourite was timed at 1:33.2 for the 7 ½ furlongs they raced.
