Dick Cardenas puts it over Dane Nelson, Anthony Thomas on Diosa De Oro in Caymanas (May 29) Saturday first

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The three top riders currently plying their trade at Caymanas Park, Dick Cardenas on Diosa De Oro, Dane Nelson on Lightning McQueen and Anthony Thomas on Eddie’s Princess ended up in a bang-up finish in the Caymanas Saturday (May 29) first.

After the lead switched around in the 6-furlong Optional Claimer ($550,000 - $500,000) the final furlong of the contest took punters out of their seats as the three top jockeys were locked in a fierce battle for supremacy.

When the dust settled at the winning post it was Dick Cardenas (The Wily Coyote) by a short-head over Eddie’s Princess with Thomas in the saddle. Bloodsweatandtears (Shane Richardson squeezed in for third just three-parts of a length behind the second placed horse. Lightning McQueen and Nelson was fourth.

Diosa De Oro trained by Johnny Wilmot was winning for the eighth occasion from 57 career starts.
