KINGSTON, Jamaica – Coming from dead last for most of the eighth race, Ricky Ricardo under strong guidance from Phillip Parchment, gobbled up the last two furlongs to earn a ¾ length victory over Reigning King and Innovator.
The eighth race was a Restricted Allowance IV event for four-year-olds and upwards run over seven furlongs.
Ricky Ricardo then had to survive a long stewards’ inquiry and a jockey’s objection from third by the post Aaron Chatrie on Innovator. After the stewards’ inquiry and jockey’s objection there was no change to the order of finish.
Ricky Ricardo clocked a time of 1:28.4 for the seven furlongs of the race.
