David McKenzie scorches home on Messi, becomes oldest person to ride a winner at Caymanas

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Now the grand-daddy among the riding colony, jockey David ‘Scorcher’ McKenzie turn back the years just moments ago with a win on Messi.
Trained by Philip Feanny, Messi won a four-year-old maiden contest over six and a half furlongs. Second was Lazer Light with Pure Heart third.
Based on an early check, it would appear that McKenzie is the oldest jockey ever to ride a winner at Caymanas Park. McKenzie is now 69-years of age.
The winning time was 1:21.3.
