Daniel Satchell wins no whip apprentice race on First Selection

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The fourth race on the 11-race card today at Caymanas Park was an apprentice only event without the use of the whip over six and a half furlongs for four-year-old maidens.

Daniel Satchell duly obliged on First Selection for trainer Welsh Soutar. First Selection won at odds of 5-1. It was Soutar’s third winner for the season.

Second went to Evasive Action (Kiaman McGregor) at odds of 13-1 and third was General Mubaraak (Roger Hewitt) at odds of 6-5.

The winning time was 1:23.2 for the distance on offer.
