KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trainer Wayne DaCosta and leading jockey Anthony Thomas joined forces just a while ago to land Section 2 of the Flossie McNeil Cup run over six furlongs for non-winners of three fillies and mares.

The win by DaCosta was his third for the race meeting thereby increasing his lead over Anthony Nunes in the race for the trainers’ championship.

For Thomas, it was his first on today’s card but it allowed him to move ahead of his nearest challenger Dick Cardenas. At present Thomas has ridden 94 winners and Cardenas 84 with only two race days to go.

Sergeant Reckless won at odds of 3-5 and paid $87 to win. The winning time was 1:13.3 with splits of 23.1 x 47.2.

Second went the 2-1 chance Cherokee Way with Aaron Chatrie in the saddle. Eye Candy at 17-1 was third.
