KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for first time, Curlin’s Barracuda, a half-sister to the now retired 2000 Guineas winner of last year, Wow Wow, ran out an easy winner of the Caymanas Saturday seventh which was a three-year-old maiden special weight run over four furlongs.

With Robert Halledeen in the saddle for trainer Anthony Nunes, Curlin’s Barracuda was slow to exit her draw as Vanquisher (Shane Ellis) set the early splits with Midnight Blue (Anthony Thomas) pasted on the stand rails.

Curlin’s Barracuda then picked up her gallop impressively in the final furlong, pulling away to win by 4 ½ lengths in a time of 47.4.

Heart of the Sea (Abigail Able) came from nowhere to finish second with Vanquisher third.
