KINGSTON, Jamaica – It did not take long for the upset to happen as in the Caymanas Monday (May 17) first, veteran jockey Charlton Riley broke a long spell with a winner when he piloted the Patrick Fong trained Blood Song at odds of 29-1.

Riley, Blood Song, and Fong were successful in a Claimer ($750,000 - $600,000) travelling nine furlongs and 25 yards.

Using his vast experience acquired from over 35 years in the saddle, Riley bided his time at the back of the pact as Sunshine City (Obrien White) set off in front.

Calmly moving by rivals, Riley got Blood Song on the inside rails when they entered the stretch drive.

From then on it was no contest winning by over seven lengths. Dezzy The Genius (Dick Cardenas) was second and Hot Ice (Jerome Innis) third.
