Bala Gris releases maiden tag in 1st of 11 races as Golden Weekend gets underway

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Racing for only the second time, Bala Gris released the maiden tag in the first of 11 races at Caymanas Park a short while ago as the Golden Weekend of racing got underway.

Bala Gris ridden by apprentice Daniel Satchell and trained by Patrick Lynch came from off the pace to catch and beat Father Ken (Kerry Gayle Robinson) after the latter had taken over with a furlong left in the Maiden Condition event for three-year-old colts and geldings run over 5 ½ furlongs. Father Ken was second and Belligerent King third.
