KINGSTON, Jamaica – Thirteen of the 22 apprentices who started the latest Jamaica Racing Commission’s jockey training programme in January of this year now have the opportunity of showing the public what they have gathered thus far.
A special promoters’ sponsored event confined to these 13 apprentices is down for competition on the 10-race mid-week programme at Caymanas Park.
This special apprentice race is the fifth on the card and is slated for horses five-years-old and up with an Optional Claiming tag of $180,000 to $150,000 over four furlongs (800 metres).
