KINGSTON, Jamaica – Currently in second place behind colleague apprentice Christopher Mamdeen in the race for the jockeys’ crown, Reyan Lewis stepped up to win the third race on Mirabilis – a 9-5 betting option.

Lewis kept the Johnny Wilmot trained Mirabilis from off the pace in the Optional Claiming event (#$450,000 - $400,000) event as Ballon d’Or set the early fraction in the nine furlongs and 25 yards offering.

Leaving the three-furlong marker, Lewis pushed through Mirabilis to challenge Ballon d’Or with both entering the straight side by side.

After a brief tussle, Mirabilis and Lewis pulled away to score by 1 ¼ lengths. Ballon d’Or was second and Blood Song third.
