KINGSTON, Jamaica – There were many rumours going into the Jamaica St Leger concerning hoof problems for the Triple Crown seeking, Supreme Soul.

But all those rumours regarding the bad hoofs were laid to rest as Supreme Soul (Shane Ellis) rallied this time on the inside, to thwart the challenge of stablemate Toona Ciliata (Linton Steadman).

At the top of the stretch, Toona Cilita actually went in front and was fighting like hell to deny Supreme Soul, yet Ellis got Supreme Soul up for a last effort and Supreme Soul just, yes just, got up with his last two strides to win by a short head to become the 12th Triple Crown winner and Caymanas Park.

It was a first Triple Crown win for trainer Anthony Nunes.

The winning time for 10 furlongs was 2:09.1.

Nunes finished first, second, third and fourth in the event.

This was the fourth St Leger win for Ellis.
