KINGSTON, Jamaica – It took every ounce of energy from Alexa’s Dream ridden by Chris Mamdeen and trained by Robert Pearson to earn her first win which was achieved in the Caymanas Saturday eighth.

Racing among her three-year-old maiden peers travelling seven furlongs, Alexa’s Dream was kept close to the early leader Sure Curlin (Robert Halledeen) with Vanquisher (Shane Ellis) prowling close by.

Alexa’s Dream dispatched Sure Curlin around the first corner but Vanquisher was still a threat.

Turning for home it was a straight fight between Alexa’s Dream and Vanquisher with the latter gaining the ascendency at one stage in this fierce battle but Mamdeen got extra from Alexa’s Dream who won by a neck.

Third was favourite at 6-5 - Positive ID (Dick Cardenas).
