KINGSTON, Jamaica – It took four-year-old bay filly Getstorm trained by Patrick Fong and ridden by apprentice Jordan Barrett - 23 starts before she was able to win her first race.

That victory came in the Caymanas Saturday fourth moments ago in a maiden condition contest coming down the five-straight course. The race was named in honour of former jockey Alexander Gopie.

Getstorm’s task of winning was made somewhat easier following the late withdrawal at the gates of the well-backed It’s All I.

The race turned out to be a duel between Uncle Bally (Robert Halledeen – 2-5) and Getstorm but after the horses entered the main track it was over and done with in this contest.

Getstorm won by 4 ¼ lengths to give Fong his fifth winner in 2020 and Barrett his sixth.
