KINGSTON, Jamaica – The sixth race on Saturday, September 3, 2022, is for three-year-olds going five furlongs round in which 15 horses are entered.
Below THE QUICK GALLOPER analyses the 15 starters.
– SPECIAL GIFT is a bay colt (May 15) by Soul Warrior out of Finally Ritta You trained by Ray Phillips with Matthew Bennett aboard. This colt did well on debut 35 days ago finishing fifth eight lengths behind the winner, Market Place. He was, however, withdrawn on August 6, with sick, being the official reason given. Still learning.
– CODE OF CONDUCT is a bay filly (February 3) by Midnight Hawk out of Amicable trained by Gresford Smith with Samantha Fletcher aboard. Has not been progressing as expected.
– TRAVELLER’S LODGE is a bay filly (May 25) by Blue Pepsi Lodge out of Sea Traveller trained by Christopher Pearson with Anthony Thomas aboard. This first-timer is a regular at morning exercise. Traveller’s Lodge has been well prepared and with speed, in her genes and champion Anthony Thomas in the saddle, expect a good effort.
– AMAD ALI is a chestnut colt (March 7) by Traditional out of Adina trained by Gary Subratie with Conrod Ellis aboard. The learning curve continues. Note, Amad Ali races with the tongue tie off.
– BEST DAUGHTER IN LAW is a bay filly (April 17) by Buzz Nightmare out of Our Miss Ruth trained by Vincent Atkinson with Ruja Lahoe aboard. This half-sister to former champion sprinter Chace The Great, is learning her trade. Not expected to trouble the principals.
– WHISKY is a bay colt (April 29) is a bay colt by Savoy Stomp out of Raise Your Voice trained by Richard Azan with Bebeto Harvey aboard. Did not impress on debut seven days ago. Will benefit from the experience. Note, Whisky races with the visor on and first-time Lasix.
– TRADITIONAL LADY is a bay filly (April 19) by Traditional out of Always In The Mood trained by Patrick Lynch with Dane Dawkins aboard. The combination of trainer Patrick Lynch and jokey Dane Dawkins is proving to be a successful one in recent times. Traditional Lady is getting closer and closer to winning as can be seen from her last three outings. This filly is comfortable among these and will fight out this one. Note, Traditional Lady races with the blinkers on.
– LORD BURKINGTON is a bay colt (April 10) by Berlino Di Tiger out of Soca Dancer trained by Gary Subratie with Andre Powell aboard. Finished second first time out 21 days ago. Comfortable here and is expected to be around when the winning post arrives.
– RAMBLING ROSE is a bay filly (April 27) by Bern Identity out of Rudy Rose trained by David Lee Sin with Aaron Chatrie aboard. Note, Rambling Rose races with the blinkers on. Made her debut on July 30, finishing third, after racing as green as grass. This filly has been seen at exercise and should have stripped fitter thereby giving her a live chance of taking this one.
– NORTHERN LADY is a bay filly (April 12) by Northern Giant out of Liquid Lady trained by Patrick Lynch with Jerome Innis aboard. This filly has been getting closer and closer with a second-place finish on last, two lengths behind Great Trick, with the latter going on to win first time in non-two. Northern Lady has speed but usually losing her way in the final parts of her races. Has a good chance of winning.
– DUJOUR is a dark bay filly (March 21) by Force De Jour out of First Kiss trained by Roy Matthews with Shane Ellis aboard. Has speed and will go for the headlines but tends to shorten. Maybe, Shane Ellis will make the difference.
– SNEAKY JOE is a bay colt (April 29) by Sensational Slam out of Distinctly Natural trained by Edward Stanberry with Dick Cardenas aboard. Needs time. Note, Sneaky Joe races with the visor on.
– FUNOMETER is a dark bay colt (April 12) by Traditional out of Opualent trained by Anthony Nunes with Carlos Blake aboard. Getting closer and closer with each run but will have to make every step right if he is going to take this one.
– BABYLON WILL FALL is a chestnut filly (February 3) trained by Al Brown with Oshane Nugent aboard. Returns from a break of 63 days, with good form in her hoofs. Babylon Will Fall has been active at exercise and comes in on Saturday with winning on her mind.
– ANOTHER WAVE is a bay filly (February 27) by Savoy Stomp out of High Cube trained by Tyrone Prince with Paul Francis aboard. Still trying to find a way. Note, Another Wave races with the cheek pieces on.
