KINGSTON, Jamaica – The eighth event on Saturday, September 17, 2022, is a three-year-old maiden contest in which nine horses have been nominated.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S assessment is published below.
– JUSTIN BIDEN is a chestnut gelding (April 15) by Lion Tamer out of Wagon Wheel trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Shane Richardson aboard. Justin Biden has raced 13 times and has made the frame on two occasions. That trend will continue on Saturday. Note, that Justin Biden races with the visor on.
– STORM A COME is a bay colt (March 9) by Storm Craft out of Terra Marique trained by Patrick Lynch with Reyan Lewis aboard. Tried 7 ½ furlongs, seven days ago, Storm A Come will now welcome the reduction to six furlongs. Storm A Come gets another opportunity and will be among the principals. Note, that Storm A Come races with the tongue tie on.
– ADENOSINE is a chestnut colt (May 31) by Lion Tamer out of Winesha trained by Ian Parsard with Dane Dawkins aboard. Adenosine has faced the starter only two times, and in those two efforts, he has done nothing to give him a chance of winning this one. Note, that Adenosine races with first-time Lasix.
– FRIENDOFTHEFAMILY is a grey gelding (April 27) by Here Comes Ben out of Win Bracelet trained by Junior Small with Dick Cardenas aboard. Well back on last (September 11) and did not show up. Friendofthefamily is given a ranked outsider’s chance of winning.
– THE GIFTED ONE is a bay colt (May 30) by Buzz Nightmare out of Venice Mellesa trained by Phillip Lee with Jordan Barrett aboard. Can safely be left out of contention.
– JOE is a chestnut colt (April 21) by Legal Process out Lady Jameela trained by Michael Marlowe with Phillip Parchment aboard. Slowly, Joe is finding his groove, yet after 10 runs, he is still behind these. The best he can hope for is a place on the board. Note, that Joe races with the blinkers on.
– SPECIAL GIFT is a bay colt (May 15) by Soul Warrior out of Finally Ritta You trained by Ray Phillips with Matthew Bennett aboard. Out of his league right now. Note, that Special Gift races with blinkers and figure 8 on.
– FUNOMETER is a dark bay colt (April 12) by Traditional out of Opulent trained by Anthony Nunes with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Funometer is getting closer and closer with two second-place finishes in his last two outings. Funometer makes a significant jump in the weights, yet given the opposition, Funometer is primed to get off the mark, plus, the Nunes camp is red hot at the moment, especially with the three-year-olds.
– ANOTHER WAVE is a bay filly (February 27) by Savoy Stomp out of High Cube trained by Tyrone Prince with Roger Hewitt aboard. Another Wave has been hanging in these maiden contests for a while now, with 12 starts. She enters this one with a 9 lb pull in the weights, thereby giving Another Wave a glorious opportunity of going home a winner.
