Trained by the in-form Ryan Darby and ridden by apprentice Roger Hewitt, it was never a race from the off as Zi Beast took control early in the middle of track and blew away from rivals to win by 5 ½ lengths.

Second by the post Willowdene (Sadiki Blake) was disqualified and placed behind fourth placed Special Prosecutor (Shane Richardson).

The finals placings read first – Zi Beast; second Smokescreen – Aaron Chatie and third Special Prosecutor.

Zi Beast was winning for the fifth time from 27 career starts, while Darby secured his 25th winner of the year. For apprentice Hewitt it was his eighth.
