Universal Boss overcomes one draw to win 5-straight Overnight fifth race

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Universal Boss under strong handling from Dane Nelson defied the odds by winning the fifth race coming down the five straight.

The race was an Overnight Allowance call with 12 starters and when the starter pushed his button a number of horses vied for the lead.

Universal Boss was kept on a straight course by Nelson and after passing the dummy rails was gently moved towards the middle of the track under heavy pumping as Peking Cruz (Dane Dawkins emerged as the main challenger.

It was dogged fight between the two with the Anthony Nunes trainee Universal Boss getting the nod on the line by ¾ length.

Peking Cruz was second with Nuclear Thunder third. The winning time was 59.1.
