RACE TYPE: Three-year-olds and upwards Graded Stakes – The Chris Armond Sprint Trophy

DISTANCE: 5 ½ furlongs

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sticking on the inside rails, Trevor’s Choice at odds of 7-1 gave his best performance ever to win the inaugural running of the Christopher Armond Sprint Trophy.

Trevor’s Choice ridden by Oshane Nugent and trained by Alford Brown rushed into the lead shortly after the starter let them go as noted speedster Patriarch was not around to challenge.

Leaving the three-furlong pole, Peking Cruz (Dane Dawkins) surged by Trevor’s Choice but Nugent was seemingly unperturbed as he went closer to the inside rails to mount a final effort.

That effort saw Trevor’s Choice fighting and fighting until he regained the advantage only to have the fast finishing Chace The Great (Omar Walker) to contend with in the final half-a-furlong.

Trevor’s Choice resolutely stood his ground to earn his best ever victory by half-a-length over Chace The Great (second) and Peking Cruz third.

This was the second winner on the day for Nugent.
