KINGSTON, Jamaica – After winning the 100th Jamaica Derby with King Arthur yesterday (Saturday, October 31), the Supreme Ventures Sprint Trophy with England’s Rose also yesterday and the Cash Pot “Only One for Me” Trophy) today, trainer Wayne DaCosta sealed the weekend deal with victory in the nightcap on the Caymanas Sunday race card.

Big Mama ridden by Anthony Thomas showed grit and determination to stave off the challenge of Born Diplomat (Dick Cardenas) to win the five round three–year-old maiden offering by half-a-length.

Thomas who was on his second winner on the day had Big Mama with the early leaders with Born Diplomat snuggled behind.

In the straight of this quick sprint Born Diplomat gained the ascendency but Thomas was now in full flight mode and Big Mama responded by surging forward to earn a first win.

Born Diplomat was second with Sniper Man third.

Interestingly, Big Mama was running for the second day in a row.
