Trainer Richard Phillipps returns to the winners' enclosure after absence of nearly 20 years

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Derby Day 2020 provided the setting for a return to the winners' enclosure by trainer Richard Phillipps.

Trainer Phillipps, who has been away from racing for close to 20 years for various reasons watched with delight as jockey Dane Nelson pushed his charge Cartel to victory in the Caymanas third over long-time leader Super Bolt (Anthony Thomas) with K J Express earning the third slot.

Cartel won a $450,000 - $400,000 claiming event.

The winning time was 1:07.3 for 5 1/2 furlongs.
