KINGSTON, Jamaica – After six attempts foreigner Whoshotthesheriff was finally able to shed the maiden tag with a convincing and fast victory in the ninth race on tap on the Caymanas Saturday (Oct 3) card.

Ridden by leading rider Anthony Thomas and trained by Wayne DaCosta, Whoshotthesheriff won a Restricted Allowance call for three-year-olds – non-winners of two and maiden foreigners travelling 5 ½ furlongs.

From the gates were opened it was the pink and white colours of owner Elizabeth DaCosta that were twirling up front as Casual Affair (Phillip Parchment) and Whoshotthesheriff set the early fraction.

Thomas kept Whoshotthesheriff on the outside of Casual Affair before pulling away at the start of the stretch drive going on to win by 3 ½ lengths in a fast time of 1:05.3.

Casual Affair could not hold for second as Voytek (Larris Allen) came running on to snatch that placing.

This was the second winner thus far on the day for Thomas and also the second for DaCosta.
