The “Anthony’s” (Thomas and Subratie) take Caymanas third with 4-5 on Smokey Topaz

KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was an all ‘Anthony’ affair in third race on today’s (Sat, Oct 17) race card at the Park.

Jockey Anthony Thomas and trainer Anthony Subratie teamed up with the 4-5 odds on Smokey Topaz to win the 5 ½ furlong offering for $350, 000 - $300,000 claimers.

When the gates opened, Thomas pushed Smokey Topaz to the lead and although challenged by Balazo (Shane Ellis) for the first three furlongs it was over and done with when they entered the straight.

This was the 64th winner in 2020 for Thomas and he now leads nearest rival Dane Nelson by 16 wins.

For trainer Subratie it was his third for the year.

Second went to Luminous Power with the third spot filled by Sir Arjun Baba.
