RACE DISTANCE: 5 ½ furlongs

KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was the mother of all finishes as a rejuvenated Reyan Lewis produced a searing two-furlong burst on Cold Pursuit coming from second to last in the field of 10 runners on the outside to nab even money favourite Salvation (Javaniel Patterson) in the glass.

Cold Pursuit’s victory came in the fifth race of 10 on the Caymanas Saturday card.

Blazing splits of 22.4 x 45.4 were posted by a combination of Casual Affair (Anthony Thomas), Basilicus (Paul Francis) and Salvation. Lewis was ambling at the back of the field at this time on Cold Pursuit trained by Ryan Darby.

In the straight, Salvation took over and was hanging on for dear life, but Lewis pressed the overdrive button on Cold Pursuit who literally flew on the outside to get up in the nick of time.

Salvation was second and Generational (Oshane Nugent) third.

The winning time was 1:06.4.
