KINGSTON, Jamaica – After his travails in quarantine in Florida late last year and after finishing fourth in his seasonal bow two weeks ago, Supreme Soul is back to his Triple Crown best.

Supreme Soul in a performance which solidified his class and fighting spirit won an Overnight Allowance call going the two turns of nine furlongs and 25 yards.

Ridden by Shane Ellis and trained by champion Anthony Nunes, Supreme Soul clocked a smart 1:56.2 for the distance.

When the starter let the 12 horses go, surprisingly it was Supreme Soul who took the lead which he kept during the run down the backstretch but Sentient (Dane Nelson) and Race Car overtook Supreme Soul leaving the half-mile marker.

Turning for home, it was Race Car in front and going strong, Supreme Soul was three to four lengths behind with Summer Sun (Raddesh Roman), who had to be checked on the backstretch starting to motor on the outside.

Suddenly after giving up the lead, Ellis who knows Supreme Soul like a book, gathered his mount and together they started to rally.

In a bang up finish with four horses spread across the track, Ellis got Supreme Soul to give of his best to beat a fast finishing Crimson (Robert Halledeen) coming fast from the inside after encountering some traffic issues.

Supreme Soul beat Crimson by a neck with Summer Sun third also a neck behind.

This was the second winner after five races for champion trainer Nunes.
