KINGSTON, Jamaica – It was as easy as Sunday morning for  Shepanza who demonstrated her recent progression in form by winning with consummate ease – a -non-winners of two - three-year-old event.

The race run over 7 ½ furlongs was the third on the Caymanas Sunday (Sept 27) card.

When the starter opened the gates to send the 10 runners on their way, Shepanza trained by Richard Azan and ridden by Omar Walker waited on leaders Step In Faith (Chris Mamdeen) and Capital Effort (Kiaman McGregor) before taking over once and for all after 2 ½ furlongs were completed.

Heading into the straight for the last two furlongs, Shepanza was still in the driver’s seat but foreigner Awesome Treasure (Dane Dawkins) started to challenge.

That effort was short lived as Shepanza stepped away to win by four lengths. Awesome Treasure was second and Pharoah It Is third.

The winning time was 1:31.4.

Shepanza was the second winner on the day for Azan.
