Second winner for Anthony Thomas/Steven Todd as Buckaluck takes home the Norman Manley Memorial Cup

BUCKALUCK SEPT 10 2016 --

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Anthony Thomas/Steven Todd Sunday show at Caymanas Park continued in the day’s fourth as Buckaluck took home the 2020 edition of the Norman Manley Memorial Cup.

This cup race had horses participating who are three-year-olds and upwards competing at a $350,000 - $300,000 claiming tag travelling a distance of five furlongs on the round course.

Thomas was at his patient best on Buckaluck as speedster Talented Tony K (Hakeem Pottinger) set a warm pace followed by 3-5 favourite Schlesinger (Dane Nelson).

Hugging the inside rails, Thomas was close by as Talented Tony K started to falter, gaining the advantage with a furlong to go but from the pack emerged Smokey Topaz (Roger Hewitt) with a last gasp effort but it was too little too late.

Buckaluck was the second winner for the Thomas/Todd duo. Earlier on the Sunday programme they were associated with Unbreakable winner of the first race.
