KINGSTON, Jamaica – Apprentice Oshane Nugent following a recent recommendation made by the race day stewards for at least five remedial riding sessions has responded in no uncertain manner by landing a double on the Caymanas Sunday (Nov 29) programme.
After riding one winner yesterday, Nugent put the Anthony Nunes trained Tricky One straight to the front in a nine furlongs and 25 yards call for four-year-olds and upwards – non-winners of four contest.
Keeping a snug wrap on Tricky One down the backstretch, Nugent just bided his time as Top Shelf (Omar Walker) tried his best to disrupt the front running plan of the winner.
In the straight, a quick change of hold and Tricky One was on his way to a comfortable 3 ½ lengths triumph.
Top Shelf was second and Chinamax third.
The winning time was 1:54.4.
Nugent first winner on the day was Primal Fear in the first event.
