KINGSTON, Jamaica – It took three starts and three second place finishes for Generational to win his first race at odds of 1-2. The win by Generational came in the third of today's (July 25) 11 races on the 1000 Guineas card at Caymanas Park and follows wins by Polly B of 8-1 in the first and Band of Gold at 12-1 in the second.

The three-year-old chestnut colt ridden by Dane Nelson and trained by champion Anthony Nunes won over 5 ½ furlongs in a time of 1:07.0.

Nelson decided not to put Generational in front as was done in his three previous runs. Instead, Nelson held Generational off the pace set by City Counsel (Oshane Nugent).

It was a two horse race in the straight with Nelson and Generational gaining the ascendency in the last half-a-furlong.

City Counsel was second with Elitist third.
