RACE – Royal Lancaster Trophy – two-year-old maidens

DISTANCE – five furlongs round

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The well-bred Nuclear Noon (Nuclear Wayne – Noon It Is) after three attempts got his winning show on the road with a convincing victory in the Royal Lancaster Trophy.

Starting at odds of 8-5, Nuclear Noon trained by Gary Subratie and ridden by Dane Dawkins was involved in a marked speed duel with first timer Alimony (Dane Nelson).

With both jockeys giving no quarter, they both entered the final two furlongs locked together but the more experienced Nuclear Noon found his top stride to power away away from rivals, winning by 6 ½ lengths.

Alimony faded in the stretch drive and was overtaken for the second slot by Regal and Royal (Kiaman McGregor).

Nuclear Noon won in an eye catching time of 59.1 seconds.
