KINGSTON, Jamaica –  After running probably his best race to date American importee Sir Alton with Anthony Thomas aboard was disqualified from first place for causing interference to Nipster (Chris Mamdeen) in the Caymanas Saturday ninth.

In a rousing finish in the 7 ½ furlong Open Allowance call, Sir Alton went to the front but after three furlongs, Father Patrick (Natalie Berger) took over with Sir Alton and Roy Rogers close by. Nipster was way behind the leaders at this stage but then made a searing move with three furlongs to go in the event.

In the straight, Sir Alton renewed his challenge, and soon went in front with Nipster hugging the inside rails where he likes it best.

In what was a straight duel, Sir Alton went over to block the path of Nipster and the stewards after deliberating took down the colours of Sir Alton.

Third was Father Patrick. Toona Ciliata (Dane Nelson) the 4-5 favourite was never in the race.

The winning time was 1:30.1.

Nipster is trained by Gary Subratie.
