KINGSTON, Jamaica - It was all smiles for trainer Michael Marlowe and his team as their injury prone Marquesas racing with the visor off triumphed at the Overnight Allowance level (8 ½ furlongs). That victory came in the seventh race on today’s (Friday, Oct 23) programme at Caymanas Park a short while ago.

Marquesas ridden by Dick Cardenas was winning for the first time since winning the Jamaica St Leger in September of 2018.

Cardenas kept Marquesas off the pace set by the front running duo of Jamai Raja and Roy Rogers. It was the latter who had the advantage in the straight but Cardenas really started to work on Marquesas and the five-year-old bay horse showed his class winning by 2 ½ lengths.

Roy Rogers was second and Uncle Frank third.

The winning time was 1:45.0.

Marquesas was the second winner on the day for Cardenas.
