DISTANCE – Six furlongs

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Magenta a chestnut filly by Here Comes Ben – Winning Spirit got off to a winning career start in the Caymanas Boxing Day fifth.

A quick burst from Magenta, who was one of the last to enter the starting gates in the field of 14, saw her in front in the early pickings.

Magenta ridden by the little used Kerry-Gayl Robinson and trained by Philip Feanny put away the early challenge of Jahsendblessings, to enter the straight in front but fighting for survival as Regal and Royal came with his run on the outside while Bern Notice was motoring on the inside rails.

Robinson riding as if his life depended on it somehow managed to keep Magenta going winning by a length when they came to the winning post.

Second was Bern Notice with third going to Regal and Royal.

The winning time was 1:13.1.

This was Robinson’s first win in 2020.

Magenta is the first winner produced by sire Here Comes Ben.
