Loose Ball strikes at 47-1 for Wayne DaCosta and apprentice Raddesh Roman in second race

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After two winning favourites in the first two races on today’s (July 11) 11-race card at Caymanas Park, Loose Ball created the first upset winning at odds of 47-1.

In the five-furlong straight contest for three-year-olds – non-winners of two and maiden foreigners, apprentice Raddesh Roman was patient, as he sat behind speedsters, K D Rocket (Dane Dawkins – 3/1), Basilicus (Paul Francis – 72/1 and Whoshotthesherrif (Anthony Thomas – 4/5).

K D Rocket took over after fighting his way from the pack but Loose Ball trained by Wayne DaCosta was in fourth gear at this time and he powered by all and sundry to take the event in a time of 1:002.

K D Rocket was second with Basilicus third.

The winner paid $2,414 to win and the Exacta $12,952.
