KINGSTON, Jamaica – Official word has come that Dane Nelson who is tied with Anthony Thomas with 84 wins in the race to become champion jockey for 2020 will not be riding on the Caymanas Sunday (December 27) programme.
It was already known that Thomas would not be riding over this weekend because of an acute case of food poisoning.
Nelson is suffering from a groin injury after falling from two-year-old Leo on last Wednesday’s race card.
With both Nelson and Thomas out, for the second time in the history of Caymanas Park there is tie in the jockeys’ championship.
