Formal Gladiator wins Caymanas Sunday fourth to give Anthony Thomas his double

KINGSTON, Jamaica – He rode two winners yesterday and after four races on the Caymanas Sunday card currently in progress it is another two wins for leading rider Anthony Thomas.

Thomas piloted Formal Gladiator for trainer Wayne DaCosta in a five-furlong straight event for $450,000 - $400,000 claimers.

It was really not a race as Formal Gladiator taking a big drop down in the claiming ranks simply waited and with two furlongs to go powered away from rivals to win by 4 ½ lengths.

Second went to Stanilaus (Dane Nelson) with Mamacita (Paul Francis) earning third.

Thomas now leads Nelson by seven wins. Nelson is yet to ride a winner on today’s programme.
